Alyssa Kull, LCSW (Virtually in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania) NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS
I graduated from UPenn over 10 years ago with a Master's in Social Work. I have experience working in private practice, an inpatient psychiatric hospital, a cancer hospital, a community behavioral health outpatient therapy unit, a virtual school setting, and a retirement community.
As your therapist, I will always ask you what you need from me as your therapist because therapy is all about you and I want you to get the most out of our sessions together. Therapy looks and feels different for everyone, so I want you to help me tailor your therapy sessions according to your wants and needs. I want you to feel like you truly CLICK with me and I want you to feel like you can confide in me. I want you to look forward to coming to every session. No matter who you choose as your provider, I want you to know that you are not alone.
I love working with young adults who are experiencing relationship issues, family issues, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. I've also worked with older adults for 10+ years and really enjoy helping them work through issues that tend to appear later in life like loneliness, isolation, loss, grief, and illness. After establishing trust and a strong therapeutic bond, my clients want to be as open and vulnerable as possible so they can process their feelings and work on improving their lives.
I specialize in making people feel comfortable, safe, and validated. I specialize in treating my clients like they matter, are important & are worthy, no matter what they look like, sound like, or "seem" like. I'm also an expert in being a real human being and not a robot with automated responses who will "mhmm" you to death. I want you to feel like you're ultimately in control of your own therapy process. I want you to feel like I'm your teammate helping to guide you and hype you up while you learn how to hype yourself up. My "approach" is understanding that I can't expect you to expose the deepest, darkest, most vulnerable parts of yourself to me if I remain a complete stranger to you. In our sessions, I want you to feel like you're with one of your best friends who you can trust, laugh and ugly-cry with! My only goal is to make you feel like you're not alone. Like you have someone in your corner who will fight for you, laugh with you, curse with you, and ugly-cry with you (I'm totally kidding, kinda, that part's negotiable).
