Tarnjit (“TJ”) is a Licensed Social Worker who earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Temple University. She brings a diverse professional background that includes experience in child welfare, social and emotional learning, and nonprofit organizations. Through her work with individuals from varied cultural and personal backgrounds, TJ takes a holistic and adaptable approach to supporting each client’s unique needs.
As a first-generation immigrant, TJ understands the complexities of navigating multiple cultural identities and the challenges that can arise when balancing family expectations, cultural values, and personal goals. She is especially passionate about creating a compassionate, culturally responsive space for individuals who may be experiencing identity conflicts, feelings of isolation, or difficulty managing the pressures of living between cultures.
TJ believes in the power of connection, storytelling, and self-compassion as pathways to healing and growth. She utilizes evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and culturally informed strategies that align with each client’s values and lived experiences. Her collaborative and client-centered style focuses on helping individuals develop practical coping skills, shift unhelpful patterns, and build resilience during life’s challenges and transitions.
TJ works with individuals who may be experiencing anxiety, relationship difficulties, identity exploration, self-esteem concerns, or major life changes. Many of her clients are seeking support as they navigate stress, cultural expectations, or emotional challenges that impact their overall well-being.
In sessions with TJ, clients can expect a safe, nonjudgmental environment where they feel heard, supported, and empowered. Her goal is to help individuals gain greater clarity, strengthen their sense of self, and develop the confidence and tools needed to build healthier relationships, navigate life transitions, and create a life that aligns with their authentic values and goals.
