Mary Cate McGourty, LCSW (Located in person and virtually in MA)
I am a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) with extensive experience supporting individuals facing serious mental health challenges. My approach is rooted in the many dimensions of wellness—mind, body, and spirit—and how these interconnected areas shape mental health and overall wellbeing.
I take a trauma-informed approach with every person I meet, recognizing the impact that past experiences can have on the present. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel empowered to heal, grow, and build the skills you need to navigate life’s challenges. Together, we will work to uncover barriers, explore new perspectives, and develop strategies that help you move forward with resilience and confidence.
Many of the clients I work with come to me feeling stuck, unsure of how to move past old wounds, or searching for ways to better manage stress, anxiety, and overwhelming emotions. If you are motivated to create change, open to collaboration, and ready to invest in your growth, I will walk alongside you in this journey.
I specialize in helping individuals manage stress and anxiety, process trauma and grief, navigate life changes, and rebuild motivation, self-esteem, and confidence. My practice integrates evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness practices. I am especially passionate about exploring the mind-body-spirit connection and supporting those who want to tap into this awareness to promote deeper healing.
