Lisa Isaac, Intern
Not knowing exactly what you need from therapy is a completely normal place to begin. What matters most is showing up. My goal is to create a warm, calm, and supportive space where you feel safe speaking honestly and openly without fear of judgment.
Before pursuing my MSW, I gained experience working in a residential facility for women. That experience strengthened my understanding of how trauma, mental health challenges, relationships, and life circumstances can affect the way we see ourselves and navigate the world.
My approach is client-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. I focus on the strengths, abilities, and resources you already have while helping you build additional tools to support your growth. I remain mindful of how past experiences can influence the way we think, feel, respond, and connect with others.
I also incorporate elements of narrative therapy, which explores how the stories we tell about ourselves can shape our identity, and solution-focused therapy, which helps identify practical steps toward the changes you want to make. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all, so I tailor my approach to your individual needs, experiences, and goals.
I work with children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, grief and loss, family conflict, life transitions, identity concerns, and other everyday challenges. Trauma is an area I am especially passionate about because of the significant impact it can have on self-esteem, relationships, emotional regulation, and overall well-being.
I also value supporting individuals from marginalized communities, including those exploring identity and belonging. I strive to bring cultural awareness, sensitivity, and respect into every session.
Whatever you're carrying, I want therapy to be a place where you can show up as your full self. I'm glad you're taking this step, and I look forward to walking alongside you.
My Ideal Client
My ideal client may be a teen who has experienced trauma, whether physical, verbal, sexual, or emotional, and continues to feel the effects of those experiences in everyday life. I also work well with individuals experiencing new or increasing anxiety, including anxiety that feels unfamiliar, overwhelming, or difficult to manage.
My clients may also be navigating significant life transitions, such as moving, starting a new job, experiencing changes within their family or relationships, or adjusting to a new stage of life. Others may simply need support managing the very real stressors that come with everyday life.
Above all, my clients need a place where they feel heard, seen, understood, and safe. Together, we can develop practical tools for managing triggers, stress, anxiety, panic, and the lasting effects of trauma. The goal is to help you feel more confident and equipped to handle life's challenges while developing a stronger understanding of yourself.
How I Can Help
My primary focus is trauma and its lasting effects, along with helping clients develop practical skills for managing anxiety, life transitions, emotional challenges, and everyday stress.
Using a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach, we can explore how past experiences may be affecting your present while also identifying and building upon the strengths you already possess.
I provide a collaborative space where you can process what you're experiencing while learning practical coping skills you can use outside of therapy. This may include grounding techniques for anxiety or panic, emotional regulation strategies, tools for navigating major life changes, healthier communication skills, or approaches for processing trauma at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
I also incorporate narrative and solution-focused approaches when appropriate so that our work remains flexible, practical, and centered around what works best for you.
My goal is for you to leave therapy feeling more capable, grounded, confident, and connected to yourself.
