Frances Barlas, Pre LPC (Located In Person in PA and Virtually in PA, MA,VA, NJ, FL)
Hi, I’m Frances — a pre-licensed therapist passionate about supporting people on their journey toward creating a more meaningful and fulfilling life. I believe in the power of therapy to help people deepen their self-understanding, lessen emotional suffering, and cultivate overall well-being.
Life can be hard — often harder than we’re willing to admit. Our culture tends to prioritize productivity and consumerism over genuine connection and contentment. In my work, I help clients slow down, reflect, and reconnect with what truly matters. Together, we’ll explore how your past experiences shape your present, uncover patterns that may no longer serve you, and develop new ways of showing up for yourself and the people you care about.
I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and major life transitions, as well as teens and young adults navigating identity and belonging. My approach is relational and person-centered, meaning therapy is a collaborative process — you bring your lived experience, and I bring tools and insight to help you grow. I draw from psychodynamic theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based practices to meet you where you are.
My ideal client is curious about their inner world — someone who wants to understand both why they are the way they are and how they can move toward change. I value creating a safe, compassionate space where you can be your authentic self without fear of judgment. Together, we’ll explore the connections between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, uncovering new possibilities for healing and growth.
If you’re ready to take the next step, I offer a free 10–15 minute consultation where we can connect, discuss what you’re looking for, and see if we’re a good fit. I’d love to hear from you.
